Slumdog Millionaire Task 2: Marketing

From this poster the audience can tell that this film is going to be an action type film. This is shown through the main actress running and the layout of her picture shows her running at a high speed as the background is blurred. We can also tell that this film will be based around relationships as the girl and the guy within the poster are very closely placed next to each other. We can tell that the main character within this film is going to be the guy as there is an extreme close up of him, however we can also tell that the girl will be of importance within his life as she is shown overlapping his face slightly. The game show theme is also shown quite clearly through the famous layout of the ‘who wants to be a millionaire’ game show is stated. This represents the ideas of the questioning of luck coming in. The text for the title is written in a faded kind of font which represents the idea of one of the characters having a rough life. The colours in the background represent hope yet confusion as there isn’t a certain theme of colours but rather different ones. All of these ideas shown on the poster tied together create a strong draw in for the audience as it seems the film covers all aspects of what audiences want in terms of love, relationships, reality and action.
